It was a strange day. I was still in Poland. I heard the news over the radio. Something horrible happened in New York City. Not much information how and why. Later on that day I watched TV news and finally I saw two famous skyscrapers falling down, killing thousands of people. Sadness and questions came to me. But there was a much worse thing going on. When the Western World was in tears there was another part of the world that was celebrating. And I think this was the most shocking - the celebration of death by people that were mad at others.
Today we have an entire generation of new Americans that do not remember what happened on 9/11. They didn't see firefighters risking their lives to save people. They do not remember police officers carrying bodies out of the ruins covered with dust from the obliterated concrete. They did not hear the cries of people receiving help from the nurses and doctors desperately trying to save them.
It has been only nineteen years but so many things have changed. We do not need terrorists to destroy our cities, we have ANTIFA. We do not need foreigners to burn down buildings, we have rioters.
I wonder what a white police officer from NYC carrying a half dead body would say, when he will be called a white supremacist or a fascist. It is sometimes unbelievable how much our society changed and it doesn't look like a good change.
If I could make any kind of judgment of these last two decades, I would say that somebody really wanted to divide this society. A strong America is a big obstacle for someone's plan of shifting the economy, changing the priorities, controlling people. Lack of respect for a flag, national anthem, constitution didn't come from nowhere.
If I could give any advice today I would say do not listen to ideologies that look great on paper but have never worked in real life. Do not follow pe
feeling people because of a feeling but listen to reason and find those who are reliable and knows history. Do not look at those who promise you convenience but rather look for those who save lives, especially the unborn.
Do not let the victims of 9/11 die for nothing. Maybe today look back and give yourself time to reflect about the past so that you will pick a better future.
