Intentional confusion

I didn't write anything for a long time, but the recent letter of Pope Francis to US bishops pushed me to share my thoughts.
First of all, with a broken heart, I see signs of hypocrisy coming from the Vatican City, pretending to embrace Social Justice but in a very selective way. For the last few years, we have seen many states forcing the law of abortion, killing children even after birth. Did you see any letter from the Pope to our bishops condemning those who promote this kind of action? We have seen human trafficking and child sex slavery across the border, but did we see any words of criticism of this crime? Unfortunately, these weren't issues that could make the Pope speak up and condemn a government that allowed it to happen.
Today, he spoke up because the borders are closed, and the illegal immigrants are sent back home. Or maybe it is because USAID no longer sends a hundred million dollars. It is the first time in my life that I have a hard time believing in the good intentions of our spiritual leader. Liberation Theology seems to be all over the place. Its deep roots in Marxism and socialism seem more critical than the Gospel. Misusing biblical parables, changing their context, and forcing social interpretation doesn't make it correct. Equal outcomes are not what Christ teaches us. Instead, he tells us to make an effort, use our skills and talents, work hard to achieve goals, and be prepared to welcome Him when He comes again. By the way, if you put a tent up in the Vatican illegally, you cannot enter the City for the next 15 years.
So it is a sad conclusion. Killing children, sex trafficking, and gangs terrorizing neighborhoods weren't so horrible in the eyes of the Vatican. Closing borders and withdrawing money from catholic charities were big enough to get the Pope's attention. Maybe it is time to start the repentance of the Vatican before someone criticizes people in the US. Double standards do not help to bring justice.
Here is the beautiful truth. The Church will survive it. She is holy not because of the Pope or bishops, but because of Jesus Christ. Let's pray that this holiness will become a part of us.
It has been a while, Father. I hope you are doing well. I am sorry I missed this last blog. I don’t think I got an alert for it. I found it when I tried to reflect in some of your messages from Lent.
We need to stay strong because there are many changes coming that will cause a counter “attack” by those who benefit from evil. I don’t need to be a prophet to see that an era of hatred towards Catholics is brewing and/or already here. We have to read the signs of the times and be on our guard. Stay close to Mary, Father. Remember Matthew 10:16 and read Daniel. May our Lord bless you!
In union…
Excellent write up and assessment. When I was told that Pope Francis will be liberal as pope I was afraid of things like that. I’m afraid that he’s part of the bigger problem we are seeing around the world post Covid.
It’s time for him to go and bring a pope that will unify us around conservative values that matter to Catholics.
