A Short Reflection About Life

This is a very dark approach to things that are happening in front of us. This is a surreal look at the madness of man deciding about life. Be ready because it will shock you.
One of the points of the pre-election campaign was a right to kill an unborn baby. The article 115 didn't win in the state of Colorado. This gave me an opportunity to think about life in the future.
First of all it was already-born people deciding about the unborn. It is like people who have enough food deciding how much food we should give to those that starve. I know it is not a perfect analogy but it will help you to understand my point.
Late term abortion means that we can practically kill a person just after birth. If I am correct, you can do it in the state of New York. But why stop then?
Why not kill a person who is three years old and the parents do not want the child anymore? It is too much work and it is too expensive. Maybe the child got sick and now it is very inconvenient to have a disabled child. So just to be merciful to the child that is suffering (can't play, can't run, needs a diaper) and to the parents because taking care of a sick child is overwhelming, we should be able to euthanise the child.
But what about those that are so depressed, they do not have any strength to live. They should have the right to be killed. They don't have any joy of life anyway and plus it is so hard on others. So, they should die. This is already happening in the Netherlands.
But then we have all those homeless. They don't have food, a place to stay, they could spread illness in our society. They live in such misery so killing them could be an act of mercy for them and for the society.
Oh wait, we have drug addicts. They are such an expense for our society. They cause so many crimes, they abuse others, they sell the drugs to our children. We should kill them too. This way we will make our cities free from heroin or amphetamines.
But then what about those who are old? They spend all day in nursing homes. So many of them cannot take care of themselves. Some of them have Alzheimer's or some other dibilitating illness. Their mind doesn't work so killing them is not a big loss.
We can go on like this for as long as we want. There will always be some justification to kill others as long as we can stay alive. But here is the problem. This scenario from above will happen if we still believe that it is up to us who should be alive and who should die. It is exactly what happened in CCCP, China, Nazi Germany. All the leaders of those countries believed that there is no God, that they are gods. Godless society doesn't have a future and when there is not objective truth everything is permissible.
So, maybe it is time that we start to make things clear. Talk to your children, to your friends. Show them what happened in the past. Look at the history and stop blaming others. It is up to you what will happen to human life.
So much for the Oath!!!
Lol, Donna. His patients nearing that age are switching doctors -- lol.
I'm sure he'll be working hard for us seniors!!😜
I was thinking of this post when I saw this news story about who Biden would pick for a new covid task force committee (I'll reserve comment on the bigger issue here). This doctor starts to open the door about it being morally problematic to live past 75 (although he makes some noise about being against euthanasia, one can see where he might want to go).

It is a slippery slope that is quickly becoming steeper and "greasier"... The need for power is addicting .... As Saint JPII has said ...never loose hope. We need to be a holy people of hope in the face of all this horror. " Be a Maccabee"...we all need to stand firm in the truth and with the Love Jesus calls us to.
