And Now What?

Yes, things are going to change in the next few years. The world will never be the same, but it is not the end. I am thinking right now about the people that move from Europe to the USA to escape the social-democratic governments. We have seen so much of those fruits that were promised to young people and we also know that they do not work.
Apparently when people have too much they are afraid to lose it and they will accept anything just to protect their possessions. When I look back I can see that one thing was lost among Republicans. Most of them are not fighters any more. They became what I call marshmallows. Little bits of "yes" and little bits of "no". The same is in the Church. We want Christ but then we don't like what he says. We like Christmas, but we do not want to go on Good Friday.
My dear Republicans and Catholics: "All you need to say is "Yes" if you mean yes, "No" if you mean no; anything more than this comes from the Evil One." (Mt 5:37). This is such a simple recipe for our future.
I am looking at the early Church how focused and faithful those people were and how they shared the Good News growing in strength. I am looking at the leaders of the small faith communities not afraid to speak up and be with their brothers and sisters in the most difficult moments. I think about priests that were killed in World War II faithfully following Christ. I have to tell you, I am lucky because I have seen priests during Communism preaching the truth not afraid, rooted in deep faith.
I hope we will not have to get to this point. But we still have to reject the diluted truth. God created man and woman. He gave us 10 commandments, not 9 or 8. Only through repentance can we be with God. We have to work, whoever doesn't work because he is lazy, shouldn't eat. "We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work. Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no work themselves, but interfering with other people's. In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and call on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earning the food that they eat." (2 Thessalonians 3: 10-12)
So what do we do now? Listen to God and do your job. And stop to praise mediocre saying "good job" - (I love the movie Whiplash and the entire explanation about "good job.")
