I believe we all like to hear some stories, fairytales with happy ending. Every culture has them. By reading them we learn about ourselves, our roots, values, etc. They have some wisdom coming from the experience of ancestors. They are not real but by showing us the world of fantasy they make real the truth of life.
But what if it is working opposite way. What if the world of a fairytale is real but the teaching is a fantasy? Friend of mine just send me a link to a big news. "California Enacts Ban on Gas-Powered Mowers, Leaf Blowers". This is a great news. When everything there is getting so expensive, not enough power for air conditioners, growing number of homeless, the government of California is focused on mowers. This is a real world with a fantasy solutions. Well, this is where we are now. I guess pretty soon we will see all Hollywood stars with electric mowers cutting their grass. I know, it will not happen.
California has all rights to do whatever it wants but what if this mentality will take over entire country? Actually I think it is already happening. The old saying that if we do not talk about something it doesn't exist is right in from of our eyes. We do not talk about real problems like food price, shortage of money in less fortune families, growing number of illegal immigrants and challenges coming because of that, we have problems at schools and with the level of education but apparently mowers are a true challenge of our time.
Do you remember the old song "If you go to San Francisco"? Well, I don't think you have to put a flowers in your hair but rather you will need a lot of money, some disinfecting wipes and be careful not to step on some excrements left on a street. I am not too sure about gentle people either.
As of January 2020, California had an estimated 161,548 experiencing homelessness on any given day, as reported by Continuums of Care to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Of that Total, 8,030 were family households, 11,401 were Veterans, 12,172 were unaccompanied young adults (aged 18-24), and 51,785 were individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.
Public school data reported to the U.S. Department of Education during the 2018-2019 school year shows that an estimated 271,528 public school students experienced homelessness over the course of the year. Of that total, 11,021students were unsheltered, 19,758 were in shelters, 14,386 were inhotels/motels, and 226,363 were doubled up. https://www.usich.gov/homelessness-statistics/ca/
So let's ban gas mowers and not talk about real problems. Life is going to be easy and sweet. I have only one favor to ask those leaving California. Please leave these fantasy ideas in California. Do not bring them with you. They do not work.
Ditto - California was a wonderful state’😞
