Be merciful as God is merciful

For the last few years I've noticed that the main stream media are shouting about human rights, taking care of the poor, making everybody equal=the same. The big tech social media companies are shutting down hate speech. Yes, we are going to create a perfect world where people will hold hands together. We will love each other and will be dancing all the time. You will not have to work because everything will be given to you for free. There is only one condition. You have to give yourself entirely into their hands.

This very idealistic world is a utopia, but more and more people believe in it. For some reason they think that we can make heaven on earth. But as is every fairytale, this utopia is over when the reality of life comes and instead of this perfect world we have conflicts at work, stress and fear of other people, rat race for better stuff that we do not need, more anonymous life and more lawsuits about everything. So, this manmade paradise doesn't work.

Today we have Divine Mercy Sunday and I believe this celebration is an answer to all the mess we have in this world. All those high priority social issues cause only more and more division between people. The utopian world is missing one and the most important element - our Merciful God. People are changing friends because they don't agree with them, because they said something what we do not like, etc. We drop them instead of forgiving them.

It is Jesus Christ who taught us: Be merciful as your Heavenly Father is merciful. Only through mercy can we heal our homes, families, parishes, communities. Mercy is not a naive willingness of giving up. It is a decision based on the desire to be forgiven by God. To be merciful means to share the mercy of God with others. This world doesn't know mercy because there is no place for it. This world wants only to imitate something that it cannot achieve. This world needs us to learn that only in God is our true life.

True. Many are blinded by this vision of utopia. Weneed people like you Fr Marek who have seen the reality of this plan to paint a picture of what we are heading for. So that we speak up and speak out about our own vision. While we keep our eye on the prize for all who believe: Divine Mercy.
