Climat changing

It is a month since I returned from my trip to the Alps. It didn't take much time to discover that this world didn't change and things are as they were before I left. This entire time of traveling helped me to notice something. The places I had seen look better then a decade ago.

My first surprise was to see that the glacier before Monte Rosa looked better then 13 years go. It was a small shock to discover that in days of global warming I had to deal more with ice than before. Ok, maybe it was just my luck. But then just few days ago I had watched a news that last two years, the famous Australian Great Reef Barrier is getting bigger. So something what the scientists proclaimed almost dead is rising like a phoenix from the fire. Wow, this is confusing. Actually last five weeks in Woodland Park are showing that from kind of dry and yellow place during summer we turned into nice and green almost a rain forest.

Maybe all those things are just coincidences but this cause me to start to look at the science more close. I just find very interesting book written by Rupert Sheldrake PhD from Cambridge in biology. He published in 2012 a book "Science set free". You can guess that this sounds little bit sarcastic and you are right.

In the shadow if the climate change I am going to share with you the scientific creed presented by Mr. Sheldrake. Each one of us is is dealing with this creed and maybe knowing it we will be able to be more resistant to is as Dr. Sheldrake suggest.

  1. Everything is essentially mechanical. Dog, for example, are complex mechanisms, rather than living organisms with goals of their own.Even people are machines, "lumbering robots", in Richard Dawkins's vivid phrase, with brains that are like genetically programmed computers.

  2. All matter is unconscious. It has no inner life or subjectivity or point of view. Even human consciousness in an illusion produced by the material activities of brain.

  3. The total amount of matter and energy is always the same (with the exception of the Big Bang, when all matter and energy of the universe suddenly appeared).

  4. The laws of nature are fixed. They are the same today as they were at the beginning, and they will stay the same forever.

  5. Nature is purposeless, and evolution has no goal or direction.

  6. All biological inheritances is material, carried in the genetic material, DNA, and in other material structures.

  7. Minds are inside heads and are nothing but the activities of brains. When you look at a tree, the image of the tree you are seeing is not "out there", where it seems to be, but inside your brain.

  8. Memories are stored as material traces in brain and are wiped out at death.

  9. Unexplained phenomena such as telepathy are illusory.

  10. Mechanistic medicine is the only kind that really work.
