"Do you believe that I can do this?"

This is a question that each of us has to ask ourselves. Do you really believe God can do what you are asking for? I have a friend who has many plans for his future. Sometimes I am amazed by the list of things he wants to do. Of course he relies only on himself, but I've also noticed that so far none of the plans has ever happened without the help of others. There is always somebody else who has to do much of the work for him otherwise his plans would only be a list. He takes pride in what was done without any of his effort. I am sure that one day people will get tired of dealing with his passive life.
Anyway, I am talking about him because we are looking for goals in our life. We want to achieve something to be remembered for. But there are things that we cannot do on our own. They are too high for us and with the biggest effort we will never reach them without God's help.
Here comes our question again. Do we believe that God can take us and bring us to them? The dialogue from the Gospel according to Matthew has another sentence that is so important, but also very scary: "Let it be done for you according to your faith." God helps us in our life according to our faith so we shouldn't waste any grace that comes from him. But what if we rejected his grace for so long that he stopped helping us? Or rather I should say: we ignored his help for so long that now we cannot see it anymore.
Prayer life is necessary if we want to be aware of God's help. Faith is not a statement about God's existence. It is a relationship that goes through everything we do and who we are. God does things for us according to our faith because that is what we can accept.
Advent is the perfect time to ask about our faith. Do you believe that God can help you? And do you have time for Him?
Yes! I believe…and someone said a long time ago, “Ask God for what you want but be grateful for what you receive…it may be better than what you asked for”.
Yep - when we believe God, we trust Him, and when we trust Him we obey Him, and when we Obey Him we can never go wrong.
