I am finally done with the OTS. Back in Vegas, back in the base. Since I wrote last time, many different things happened. Our pope published a very controversial letter, and the war between Israel and Hamas became more brutal. I was lucky to have a break for Christmas and New Year. It was a wonderful time with real food and sound sleep. I want to thank you for your prayers, support, and Christmas cards and gifts. I appreciate them.
My last three months gave me many opportunities to experience God's amazing love during this time of challenge. When I questioned some things, He gave me the answers. In moments of doubt, He was the strength. He was all in all things. I guess I experienced what St. Paul told us about God being with us.
Now is the time to move forward. Every day comes with new things and tasks to be fulfilled. Each one of them is a chance to give glory to God. As I drove through the gate of the base, I realized that this is a place of many spiritual opportunities. A place where I can throw the seeds and water them, and God himself will give them growth.
This morning, I met a lovely young man who came for the daily mass. He is an airman who just joined the RCIA program. He was looking for God for so many years and finally found Him in a Catholic Church. What a great story. This is just the beginning. If we bring the holiness of God to our men and women in the military, they will come to Him. Much work is needed, but we can do it with Him, who gives us strength.
It is very good to hear from you! This is wonderful message. Yesterday was the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul and your message reflected what sounded like a very similar experience with a new awareness and a burst from the Light of Truth to your soul. We all have confidence in you and your ability to bring the Lord's good gifts to the soldiers you will meet as you continue serving our country. At your request, I am including in my daily prayers for you, a prayer for the soldier you are trying to help each day. May God Bless you always and keep you safe.
Congratulations and welcome back to the blog. Good to hear from you.
We are all happy for you that training is completed. I imagine it was tough at times. The men and women there will greatly benefit from your bring there. You have such faith and knowledge of it. You have no idea what a profound impact you have had on parishioners at OLW. We miss you. God bless.
So glad to hear from you. Glad this New Year is off to a good start for you. May you stay well and continue to be enveloped by God's Blessings. I too read the Pope's controversial letter...I continue to pray for our Leaders of Church and Country...we need all the help we can get from above!
With prayers,
Carolyn
God bless you Fr. Marek for taking on the difficult physical, mental and spiritual training needed to pass all the tests to become a chaplain in the US Air Force.
Your work with the young people in the military is God’s work through you.
We love you and miss you here at OLW.
Please visit us when you can.
