It is not about the truth but about the confusion

As you know, we are surrounded by people proclaiming to know and to hold the truth. It could be about a climate, a gender, a religion or any other topic. All those self-proclaimed authorities come to us with a screaming voice: you must listen to me. Of course they know only this part of the truth that serve to their interest. Just a small example. We have to save the planet from these recent climate changes. One way to do so is to eliminate the amount of the flights. They European Union came with an idea that every person should be allowed to fly just once every two years. Well, it sounds like we are going to save a lot of CO2. But just a small question: what is a ration between privet and commercial flights?

In 2022 we had 5.5 million privet flights worldwide and 22.2 million commercial flights (including cargo flights). So the ration is 1 to 4.25. Who is causing more CO2 per person? A plane with 5 passengers to the one with 100 or 200 or even 300 passengers? Well, nobody wants to look at it, because those flying privet planes would not be able to give up they comfort, so the cuts have to drop on the average customer of the commercial flights.

From the politicians, though the activists and finishing on the self-proclaimed authorities we receive this confusing "truth" working well for a small group of people and hurting the rest of us. And why we are experiencing this? Because nobody cares about the truth. We are looking for simple answers that work for us. It happens in politics, education, business and even in the Church. We accept this easy, very often confusing answers, because we are too lazy to dig deeper for the truth.

One of my professors of the moral theology long time ago gave us, students an example during the class how people present the truth that finally bring a confusion.

There was a man who came to confess his sins. "Father" he said, "I have stolen a chain". So the priest explained him that he has to return this chain to the owner and never do it again. The man was so happy because he received the absolution. But there was a problem. This man never said in confession, that the chain he had stolen was attached to the cow. So he returned the chain but kept the cow.

Our modern authorities are like that. They tell us only what they want and the way they want that we cannot see the entire picture. They do not care about the truth. They want to bring confusion, because this way they can play their game.

If you want to find the truth, you cannot read the first few pages brought to you by Google. You have to dig much deeper. Last Sunday Gospel, from the Transfiguration of the Lord explains us this truth. "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him". This word "beloved" has a deep meaning of the unity between the Father and the Son and this unity pleases the Father. Actually the word "pleases" is not the best in this moment. The unity is a source of happiness. Everything what is in the Father is in the Son and everything what is in the Son is in the Father. If we listen to the Son, we listen to the Father. So God the Father is "pleased" is his Son because they are one. God doesn't confuse us. He comes with the fullness of the truth.
