Just two more weeks

Yes, time flies. Just two more weeks and we will have Christmas. Time flies and how many more days are left before Christ will come again? Nobody knows. This is one of the very important parts of our life with Jesus Christ. We know that He will come, but we do not know when.

This unknown time makes all of us equal. Each one of us has exactly the same chance to be ready and welcome our Savior when he appears again. T

We must use the time that is given to us wisely, fruitfully. Every day is given to us to be used for being ready. I've been away from the parish for the last few days. It gave me an opportunity to look at Advent in a different way. Before it was a very busy time when everything had to be readied for Christmas. This year I have time to go much deeper into the meaning of those days of preparation. It is good sometimes to stop for a moment and take a look at myself from a different perspective. I wish that all of you would have an opportunity to experience something like that.

The third Sunday of Advent leads us to joy because the Lord is coming. This spiritual joy is rooted in the desire of being with God forever. Let's just think about it for a moment. If we know that we can only find the fullness of happiness with God in Heaven, why would someone try to avoid this opportunity given to us in its own time? We kill ourselves for an earthly short moment of joy but at the same time we are afraid to reach for those that will last for ever.

This world has convinced us that by leaving it we are going to lose something important and at the same time it does not want us to see that there is a joy that never ends and it is not here.

So rejoice that our time is coming. It is unknown when, but one day we will be with the One we love the most.

The early Christians knew that life on earth was not forever.

Our home is not here, it is with God. How eager would we then be to go to him if we realized... Our beloved Lord! It is good to remember that the Church (whether it is Militant, Suffering or Triumphant) is all united in God. It is a beautiful plan. One day we’ll go home! Another good reminder. Thanks!
