Peace on Earth

It is very interesting how much we desire peace on Earth. We even formed an international organization called the UN to make our planet heaven on earth. But since 1950 I believe we've had seventeen wars worldwide, and some closer to war incidents. So, how does this peace on earth really works?

Interestingly enough, since 1945 we can see some gradual movements in the political landscape. A narrative was slowly shaped over time. All of the world's problems are because of Christianity so the UN has to put Christianity down and all the values that were brought by Christianity. A few years ago I met a mom that moved her child from a private school because the history teacher taught the class about world problems like famine, wars, poverty were caused by Christians and their values. Apparently all those problems came because of people believing in Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter that most Islamic countries are suffering from poverty (with the exception of the few percent of rich people), communist China is not better (wealth is available for those that agree with the government), 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's poverty in Russia (look at the death rate in Siberia). Apparently those places are a sign of success - just kidding.

Yes, the UN carries the true peace to every corner of the world. At the end of the 90's last century (this sounds like it happened a hundred years ago) I met some people in Croatia and they told me about the war in Yugoslavia from their perspective. I met nuns from Ruanda and they shared their experience of war. I talk to people from south of Nigeria and they told me the stories from this part of the world. All those people have something in common. They are Christians and in every single case they were left alone without any help. Apparently peace is not for them.

Oh well, this is our reality as people believing in Jesus Christ. We will always be a sign of contradiction in this world. But don't worry, artificial peace will not last and every kingdom on this planet collapses. The only one that will last is the Church and in Her we will reach our peace in Heaven.
