Silent Witness

I don't know how many people heard about this, but apparently few days ago somebody following all the recent riots, burned a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I don't know why, but whatever reason it was, this act was very much against God and the Mother of God. How much hate has to be in a person to decide to do that?

When I saw this picture I went in my mind to Golgotha. On the top of this hill the Blessed Virgin Mary witnessed the biggest crime of humanity. Her Son, Jesus Christ, true God and true man was crucified to save every person that will believe in him. Two thousand years later she is witnessing this truth again. This time she does it a different way. This time Satan is taking an action against her and her children. The One that gave birth to the Son of God has to witness Jesus again. It was under the cross when Jesus Christ gave her as our mother. Today she is a martyr of her motherhood because of her love. What child would destroy its own mother? Only the one that is possessed by Satan, rejecting love in the name of evil. How many times did she come to us with tears asking for our repentance, for returning to God? Maybe the power of Satan is so huge that now she has to sacrifice herself and her images.

We have seen in history terrible things against faith, but there is one very special period of time when an evil targeted God and Blessed Virgin Mary with amazing power. It was in the time of communism. It was June 22nd 1966 when the most important image of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Poland was seized by the communist government during a pilgrimage of her Image between parishes. But that wasn't the end. September 2nd 1966 they seized the Image again and placed it in Jasna Góra with no permission to leave for the next six years. At the same time, all the bishops encouraged people to pray and fast to protect Poland from any evil. It took 24 years with the help of the Blessed Virgin Mary to get rid of Communism.

Satan hates our Blessed Mother. He knows that with her help he doesn't have any chance. Her silent testimonial about her Son is more powerful than any riots and protests. She comes to us the same way as she came to the servants at the wedding in Cana of Galilee and says the same words: Do whatever my Son asks you to do.

O most Holy Virgin, immaculate in body and spirit, look kindly on us as we implore your powerful intercessions.

There are most definitely political reasons behind this. Just look at the ridiculous attacks on the Christian faith in dictating how or if we express our faith. To ban singing? To mandate masks? To limit congregations? Direct attacks. This too is the further agenda of the anarchists who are ramming communism down our throats. While this is not the goal of many who are acting out against the death of GF, it is without question the intent of those funding and running the organizations sanctioning these riots. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/07/18/connecticut-satanic-desecration-marks-11th-attack-christian-church/

I believe many readers misunderstand my point. I didn't blame protesters for this action. I mentioned "riots" because this was a comment attached to this pictures. People has a right to protest, but they don't have rights to vandalize somebody's property. It is morally wrong. It is true that churches are vandalized around the world but it doesn't make this problem any less serious. It also true that in France many churches are closed and destroyed but then again please look at France and it social problems. Lack of respect for other people faith never leads to peace. In our parish we pray for unity and understanding between people, but most of all we pray for mercy of God, t…

I appreciate twowortd's comments and think that many/most of the the Floyd (and related) protestors have good intentions for addressing injustices.

When I read things like activist Shaun King's tweets (to a million followers, I believe), however, I can only pray that people will not be wrongly influenced by his calls.
