Taxes

There is no doubt that we have to pay our taxes. It is our duty. We earn our money and we have to pay some percentage from this. If anyone who earns an income in this country and does not pay taxes they are a thief. If you are a citizen, legal or illegal immigrant, and you earn money and use things in this country, you have to pay taxes.
Here is the funny part about those taxes. It seems like the government is such a great and generous institution that it gives us free stuff. You couldn't be more wrong. There is no government that makes money. They exist because of the taxes, so whatever they give to you doesn't come from them but from taxpayers. What a simple truth. Neither republicans or democrats are giving us money from their own pockets. They give it from the big pocket of taxes. I am amazed at the confusion and arrogance among Americans that believe they will get free stuff. It comes from taxes. I am even more amazed by the last stimulus package. Apparently taxpayers do not have any rights to claim any help. Rather gender research in Pakistan is more important than open businesses in the the USA. I got big laughs when I saw a chunk of money going to build democracy in Venezuela when we are trying to make Venezuela here. Irony of life. The point is that the government is using our money, but it behaves as if it does us a favor and shows us mercy because it kindly shares something back that was payed by the US people in the first place. I am worried that our so-called great college students learn about 57 genders and fake history and other crap (sorry for this expression), but they cannot understand the very basic reality of taxes.
Governments do not own people, people own governments. We elect them and pay them so they will work for us; we do not work for them. I think it is time to make it very clear. If our government spends people's money for their private agenda it means that this government is a thief and it should answer for stealing our money. I hope you are not surprised by what I just said. I encourage everybody to read from the Catechism of the Catholic Church about the fourth Commandment. There is a special chapter about the country and people in the country. It will help you to see more clearly what has to be done.
Thank you for the direction to the Catechism -- I just read it.
The same is true when the politician taxes large businesses or corporations. The cost of the tax is added to the cost of the product which is then paid by the consumer.
You are right Father Marek! Government does not have money, it is our money they waste in silliness!
