For some time now I have been doubting what I have really learned. It is not about where it comes from but rather if it is true. I mentioned this before but in a different context. It is a serious question because if everything I learned is not the truth, only some kind of reflection of it, then my understanding of the world is completely wrong and someone has made me go this way.
The last few years, with all the questionable political agendas, has made me question everything I've learned about the USA and other countries. Somehow I knew about the lies for a long time and I also knew that the news is not about facts but about the way I should think about every topic. I experienced it when I had to deal with WHO and Australian Health Organization being in Papua New Guinea. The second one was really helpful but WHO had a questionable agenda.
So, again, I have to ask myself if what I learn now is a fact or a made up story. One of the people I do not like in the history of the USA is Franklin D. Roosevelt. Please don't take it personally, but for the people from the central and eastern Europe he sold us to the Soviets. But I never could understand why? So it took time and then I discovered that he actually was a socialist. The entire Social Security bill came in his time. It was sold as a saving solution for retirement but from the very beginning everyone knew that it was a system of cash flow between paying the Social Security and receiving from Social Security. So right now none of us have any savings over there. It took a while to find out all those details but finally I was able to put it together. And this is just a small bit of what we learned or didn't learn.
I am sorry that today I repeated myself a bit, but I just discovered another historical confusion. If I will have time I will share it with you.
For now, be careful what you learn, because it might not be the truth.
